DEEP SPACE 1:
Development of a numerical
plasma simulation
and its implementation on a parallel computer
in cooperation with the
Computing Centre of our university;
application of the simulation to the ion thruster of Deep Space 1, aiming
at an understanding of the dynamic phenomena in the plasma tail of the ion engine
and of its interaction with the solar wind.
Theoretical works on ULF pulsations
and field line resonances in planetary magnetospheres
